Empowering Research Excellence Winter Professional Development Series

In January, we launched our Empowering Research Excellence Winter Professional Development Series. This six-session series was created to provide faculty with practical tools and strategies to strengthen their research activities. The sessions addressed key topics, including effective use of library resources, integration of artificial intelligence in research, support for student researchers, and fundamentals of grant writing. Participants gained actionable insights, explored innovative technologies, and learned best practices to enhance the impact and efficiency of their research.

Research in Action: The Why and How of Research Methodologies

The Learning and Educational Center provided a five-part professional development research series during the fall semester for faculty at all levels of research experience: those new to research, returning to research, or seasoned researchers. Each workshop in the series was designed to build or refresh faculty members’ confidence and skills in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods methodologies, as well as in the PICOT (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Time) framework of evidence-based inquiry. Each workshop was designed to build or refresh faculty members’ confidence and skills in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods methodologies, as well as in the PICOT (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Time) framework of evidence-based inquiry. The series demonstrated how each methodology can be applied across a variety of contexts, including academia, health care, and other professional settings. We invite you to view this informative research series and encourage you to look for the LEC announcement of the Winter 2026 research series.
