This interactive workshop introduces faculty to the upgraded Turnitin integration using LTI 1.3 in the Canvas LMS. Learn how to create and manage rubrics within the Turnitin interface, understand the new types of rubrics available, and apply them effectively in online assignments. We’ll explore key benefits of using Turnitin rubrics for consistent and transparent grading, and how the LTI 1.3 update simplifies assignment setup and enhances workflow. Whether you’re new to Turnitin or transitioning from the previous version, this session will help you align assessment with learning outcomes more efficiently.

 

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Differentiate between the rubric types available in Turnitin LTI 1.3 and identify appropriate use cases for each in an online course.
    2. Create and modify rubrics within the Turnitin LTI 1.3 interface for use in Canvas assignments.
    3. Apply Turnitin rubrics to Canvas assignments using the updated LTI 1.3 workflow.
    4. Evaluate the benefits of Turnitin rubrics for improving grading consistency, transparency, and student feedback.
