Once we’ve determined where we are going on our road trip, how do we know when we’ve arrived? In this session, we will explore what is acceptable evidence that our students have achieved the course objectives. We will discuss how to use a variety of formative and summative assessments, how to make assessments authentic, and how we can use rubrics to guide our feedback and grading.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss strategies for aligning assessments to course objectives.
2. Identify various types of formative and summative assessments.
3. Determine criteria for authentic assessment.
4. Design and integrate rubrics in Canvas.
