Zoom News: Presentation Slide Controls for Participants have arrived
The recent Zoom Update to version 5.8.6 brought one particularly helpful feature for the classroom. If you have ever co-presented with someone, or if your students do so, one person is typically responsible for controlling the slide deck. Now with the latest update, presenters can authorize anyone on the meeting to control the slide deck. The feature prevents the awkward chatter of “next slide please”. When a presenter is sharing their PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides, they can grant permission to others to control the slide deck. The users who are given slide control permissions will see a control window in the bottom left-hand corner of the shared screen where they can use the forward and backward arrows to advance the slideshow.
Please note that this feature does need to be enabled in your zoom setting on the zoom website before the meeting starts. Information about enabling it can be found here – Controlling slides shared by another participant – Zoom Support.
The full details of all updates are available on the Zoom Website. As usual, be sure to keep your Zoom software up to date.
