Diving into Fall: Hands-On Training for Leveraging NSU Classroom Technology
Facilitator: John Scigliano, Faculty Trainer – Learning and Educational Center
Since the beginning of the pandemic, most classrooms around campus have been outfitted with newer technology, and if you haven’t taught in this new classroom environment, it may take a little practice to become familiar with the technology in the classroom. This hands-on training will give you some instruction along with a practice session to help you gain confidence with starting up and using the technology in classrooms at NSU. We will guide you through logging in, starting a zoom session, enabling projectors, testing audio, testing cameras, and sharing an activity to an audience. Prior attendance of our Leveraging Classroom Technology workshops or Teaching in the BlendFlex Model training session is highly recommended.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this training you will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to use the technology in a classroom at NSU including touch-screen monitor and computer, projector, screen, zoom-session recording, microphones, audio equipment.
- Demonstrate presenting an activity to the students in a classroom to engage the audience.
- Discuss troubleshooting when things are not working as planned and how to get help with OIIT if technology equipment is malfunctioning.
